“I have learned nothing is impossible and dreams do come true. All you need is to believe in yourself and never stop exploring yourself, you will always find wonders. I thank my college for giving me an awesome experience and opportunities which have helped me in finessing myself.”

I still remember the day I got my offer letter from Balaji Institute of Modern Management; my grandma said “why you have to do further study you already have a degree. Instead of doing Mba invest it to your marriage”. I remember keeping my letter in the table and saying “ let’s keep the money aside, I have an opportunity to have the career I want, a scope to create all my dreams into reality, do you have someone to match that?”. She smile and said “guddu teri beti badi hogai”. I knew I won’t need any more effort to convince anyone. Coming to this college was a big step for me. It was the first time I have been away from home. I was nervous, scared, excited and much more, starting a new journey always is full of emotions. Recalling, still can’t name the feeling I was going through. I have experience a lot in this one year. Being shy to talk to the people I have just met to promising them to be friends till eternity. Being hiding from staring eyes to becoming the lead singer for our team in aiyyaswami culturals. I have always discovered a new me in every phase, the me I have never met. I remember telling my friends in past that I’m not a creative person; yes you are talking to the person who cannot draw straight line without a ruler. Now I know creativity is not about drawing straight lines, here I got the opportunity to be part of creative team in every function of our college. People coming to me appreciating for my work made me more confident. There I started discovering myself. Attending Mahadevan Sir’s classes really boost my approach. Being class representative, active participant in all the culturals, making friends I came to know how wonderful life can be.

It wasn’t always sunny days but also lots of setbacks, family issues, sleepless night, patience, losing friends, fighting and disappointments which made me stronger. I always believe, party hard when you achieve something but don’t lose hope at the time of failure because failures are the most valuable source for your experience. I would have not been reach here mentally, spiritually or career wise without those experiences.

Usually you will find every day something exciting in our college. It is more than busy if I recall my days in here. July month was same, were giving our exams as we had to leave for our internship next month, have to prepare for SAP certification and in all we came to know a company is coming for campus placement. The company was none other than the company I was dreaming for my entire year “COLGATE PALMOLIVE”. I was excited but it was a lot to do within a month. By every passing day I was impatient, nervous, and freaky. The day of SAP Certification came “26 July” the day where my whole career depends, all my hard work, all my targets. I pray and sat for exam, don’t know where that 3 hour went but last thing I remember is the flashing screen with “CONGURATULATIONS UTKARSHA, YOU HAVE PASSED THE EXAMINATION WITH 90%”. I was thrilled, was crying a little but It was okay I was happy. I had achieved a major milestone in my life and was ready to face next. Next was closer than I ever expected, cracking Colgate was a big deal for me. I prayed and went to college it was 28th of July. Around 8 we summed up there. Starting with an elegant introduction our process starts, an online test then group discussion and final interview. Don’t know how but I was on fire that day, I was so together, keeping calm. I did not exaggerate things I was me and the company liked it. When the company announced my name I was numb, everyone came up to me congratulating. Few friends of mine was already outside celebrating like it was Christmas. I still get goose bumps recalling those moments. I can surely say this was the best day of my life. I can hear from the voice of my parents how proud they were.

I have learned nothing is impossible and dreams do come true just you need to believe in yourself and never stop exploring yourself, you will always find wonders. I thank my college for giving me an awesome experience and opportunities which have helped me in finessing myself. Looking forward to have much more thrill and excitement in coming years.

“Looking back, I can say that my journey so far has been full of learning experiences (positive and negative), which I would remember throughout my life”

Firstly I would like to convey my gratitude towards SRI BALAJI SOCIETY, Pune for giving me this opportunity to write a testimonial about the recent past which I would cherish throughout my life.

“People are like diamonds, they have their market face value, but only after they are polished they are provided by that face value.”

It is always tough to study after working, and it even becomes tougher when one gets comfortable in his job and then leave it and starts afresh. The same happened with me when ,I, left my job where I was working as a technical trainer and came down to pursue Post Graduate Diploma in Management in SRI BALAJI SOCIETY, Pune.

It was the mid of summer (June) and the sun was shining brightly on my face when I entered SBS, more likely trying to show me the bright future ahead. The first day as I remember we were introduced to the cultural heritage of India where the day started with offering prayers to Lord Ganesha followed by various activities. That day itself I and everyone else were made clear of the fact that in SBS there are no holidays and if one has to succeed he has to be trained like a military person with rules and regulations and also adhere to time like his/her best friend. Most thought that it is just the first day talk, but which are actually laws of SBS. The days flew by with morning classes starting from 8 am and finishing around 8:30pm after the guest lecture. We were then trained to be a team player when it came to the first Cultural Competition of SBS – Ayaswami Cultural Cup, there is a very peculiar way of amalgamating students from different institutes and backgrounds together in one unit called River, which is our identity till date, I am from river Kaveri. From team building to resource management to checking finances we all learnt the basis of management from that one event. Slowly and steadily all were getting accustomed to the laws of SBS, before it was like how less a time we get to go out of college as hostel entry timings were 9:30pm then within few days any time away from studies became free time, people who used to crave for friends, made their own here and groups became families and individuals became friends. This is the charisma of the great leader and the alma mater of mine- SBS, we started. Studies started, we were divided into institutes, mine being BIMM. My main focus areas became the less known subject like those of accounting and to my utter amazement they became my favorite. This is how Sri Balaji Society plays a pivotal role in making one understand that Problems are opportunities. With all the hustle going throughout the year, from celebrating every festival like mini India and occasional parties got us going.

Sri Balaji Society is the premier institute which gives students an opportunity to do a Global Certification of SAP SD, in a nominal cost which helps all in achieving great heights in their corporate career. This paved path to one of the most lucrative offerings, a chance to seal a seat in one the most prestigious organization, COLGATE PALMOLIVE.

That day all who were going to appear for the recruitment process, had a mixed feeling of joy, happiness, and fear of losing the first battle. I was no exception, first there was a pre placement talk where company officials gave an introduction to the legacy of the company and also to the great career ahead. With the talks going and ideas running through my mind, only one thing was going through my mind, how to seal this opportunity. The first round started as the aptitude test round, for which everyone in SBS had been telling us to practice because aptitude is the first threshold to cross for any recruitment process. Two hours later results were out, I made it through the first round then came the Group discussion round, every one participated and spoke, every single panel member was judging the minutest things, after a while the results for GD were out, I made it through. Now it was time for the personal interview where all were for themselves. I was the penultimate candidate, the sense of uncertainty and the willingness to do well had already created a phenomenal urge to succeed, the interview went well all except some were answered. Then it was the time for the final results, my name was the called out in the selected 5, and suddenly the feeling of becoming a superstar was there, wishes came from everywhere and anywhere. It was seriously a moment of pride.

This is in precise the experience I have undergone in the last one year. Lastly, I would like to convey my regards to the president of Sri Balaji Society, Prof. Dr Col. A Balasubramaniun for giving me this opportunity to be a part of the legacy, to Prof Biju Pillai, for an unending faith and motivation to do well, to Dr. Dimple Saini, for giving us the opportunity to appear for the final placement even before our internship, to all faculties and friends of SBS, to my parents for their love, and last but not the least to Colgate Palmolive for giving me this opportunity to be happy.
